Beijing Normal University (BNU) grew out of the Education Department of Imperial University of Peking established in 1902, which initiated teacher training in China's higher education. BNU consists of Beijing Campus and Zhuhai Campus. The University has 3 faculties, 29 schools, 9 research institutes and 5 academies. In addition, there are more than 7.7 million books and 9.3 million e-books in its libraries.
